Community Services - Food Pantry

Serving Clark County residents who are at or below 185% of poverty, the Food Pantry is available to clients one time during each calendar month. We follow USDA guidelines and operate a CLIENT CHOICE food pantry.
The CLIENT CHOICE model is rapidly replacing the old “fixed bag or box” model that once was prevalent in the U.S. This model allows our clients to retain a sense of dignity and it also means less waste, as the client who is choosing the food is the only one who knows about allergies, dietary restrictions and likes and dislikes.
Clients are required to bring a recent piece of mail to verify residency (unless homeless) and I.D. for all those who are in the household.

The CLM and Meijer Partner to Provide Hunger Relief in Clark County, Indiana through Meijer’s Simply Give Food Pantry Match Donation Program

November 1 through December 31, 2016 are the dates for the Fall Meijer's Simply Give campaign, when Meijer will match your donation.  November 11-12 are the dates for the Double Days (you donate $10 and Meijer turns it into a $30 gift card for food for our pantry)!

The Center for Lay Ministries (CLM) Bonnie’s Food Pantry is proud to announce a fall partnership with Meijer to provide much-needed hunger relief to local families through the retailer’s customer-driven food pantry donation program, Simply Give.

“This is a phenomenal opportunity provided by Meijer to our pantry – it allows us to serve more families in our area,” said Greg Henderzahs, Executive Director for CLM.

The Meijer Simply Give campaign has replenished the shelves of our local food pantry for two years with spring, fall, and holiday drives. The program encourages customers to purchase $10 Simply Give donation cards, which are then converted into Meijer food-only gift cards for our Southern Indiana food pantry.

CLM Bonnie’s Food Pantry will benefit from donation cards purchased at the Jeffersonville Meijer store now through December 31, 2016

“We encourage our community to help us fulfill our mission of helping feed the hungry in Southern Indiana by purchasing a Meijer Simply Give food donation card during your next shopping trip.  CLM has benefitted from the Meijer donation program considerably, with over $40,000 donated by our generous community and Jeffersonville Meijer store,” said Henderzahs.

The purpose of the Center for Lay Ministries’ food pantry is to provide services to vulnerable populations in the local community with compassion, dignity and respect. If you have any questions regarding your donation or of the CLM mission, please contact 812-282-0063.
